Chicken 65 Recipe – A Spicy and Crispy Indian Snack
Chicken 65 is a popular Indian appetizer made with marinated chicken pieces deep-fried until crispy and coated in a spicy, tangy sauce. It is a favorite starter in Indian restaurants.
Ingredients
For Marination:
Chicken (boneless, cut into bite-sized pieces): 500g
Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tbsp
Red chili powder: 1 tsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Garam masala: 1/2 tsp
Cornstarch: 2 tbsp
Rice flour: 1 tbsp
Lemon juice: 1 tbsp
Salt: to taste
Fresh coriander leaves: for garnish
For Frying:
Oil: for deep frying
For the Sauce:
Oil: 2 tbsp
Curry leaves: 10-12
Green chilies: 2-3 (slit)
Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tsp
Soy sauce: 1 tbsp
Vinegar: 1 tbsp
Red chili sauce: 2 tbsp
Tomato ketchup: 1 tbsp
Salt: to taste
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, mix ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, cornstarch, rice flour, lemon juice, and salt.
Add chicken pieces to the marinade and coat them well.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour for better flavor
Step 2: Fry the Chicken
Heat oil in a deep pan or wok for deep frying.
Carefully drop the marinated chicken pieces into the hot oil in batches.

Add fried chicken pieces to the sauce and toss them gently to coat the chicken evenly with the sauce.
