Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, mix yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, lemon juice, and salt.
Add chicken pieces and coat them well.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
Step 2: Cook the Chicken
Preheat the grill or oven.
Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers and cook at 200°C for 15-20 minutes or until charred and cooked through.
Step 3: Prepare the Gravy
Heat oil or ghee in a pan. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
Stir in the pureed tomatoes, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, cumin powder, and salt. Cook until the oil separates from the gravy.
Add 1/4 cup of water and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Step 4: Combine Chicken and Gravy
Add the cooked chicken pieces to the gravy and cook for 5-7 minutes, allowing the chicken to absorb the flavors.
Stir in kasuri methi and fresh cream, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Step 5: Serve Chicken Tikka Masala
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve hot with naan, rice, or paratha.
